Stories of impact

Stronger than she looks

When Chase a Better Tomorrow first met Daniella, she was just 2 years old. She was malnourished and living with a rare, undiagnosed condition that affected her health and physical appearance. Her family did not have the means to provide consistent nutrition or access the medical care she needed.

Chase stepped in to support her with regular food, milk, and access to medical care, helping stabilize her condition over time. With consistent care and attention, Daniella slowly began to grow stronger.

Today, at 8 years old, Daniella is stable, attends school, and is part of the Peacock Project, where she continues to receive emotional and social support.

Her journey is a reminder that when children are supported early and consistently, even the most vulnerable can begin to thrive.

“I’ve met guardian angels.”

In her 70s, this resilient grandmother carries a lifetime of loss, including losing four sons during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, and later loosing one of her 2 remaining daughters to domestic violence.

After her daughter passed away from gender based violence in 2023, she became the sole caregiver of her five grandchildren without any income source.

Through Chase a Better Tomorrow, she now receives consistent support for food, medical care, and school fees. for her 5 grandchildren. Today, she is slowly rebuilding hope and no longer feels alone in carrying her family’s future.

She used to portray herself as the unluckiest person on earth, but now she can smile and say, "I’ve met guardian angels."

From Silence to Song

Mugisha joined the Peacock Project in 2018 as an 11-year-old boy.  Over the years, he has grown into a responsible young man who today, at 19, stands as a role model, helping organize younger children during sessions with confidence and kindness. His mother often shares how the program transformed his behavior at home and at school, restoring hope in their family.

Seeing this change, she enrolled his three younger brothers so they could grow with the same support. Through Peacock, Mugisha discovered his talent for music and has now written and with support of Chase a Better Tomorrow produced his first song.

His journey shows how the right guidance can change the path of an entire family.
